Ikonix Connect delivers secure mobile communication for critical environments.
Ikonix Connect is a secure critical messaging app purpose-built for Australian hospitals, emergency services, and enterprise. Whether it's a priority alert that demands immediate attention or information delivered to the person on call, Connect empowers your team to collaborate in a secure environment, with efficient delivery to the right people, every time.
Hospitals, emergency services, and enterprise organisations are run by large, multi-disciplined, mobile workforces. These teams span shifts, locations, and disciplines, and they deal with delays getting responses from colleagues, technologies that don't talk to each other, and staff workload and personal privacy concerns. In response, unsecure, consumer-grade communication options are often used, creating risk. Ikonix Connect empowers your team to collaborate in a secure environment.
Find every colleague by name or role.
Search your organisation's integrated directory by name at a site or network level, or contact a role directly without knowing who's on call. No switchboards, no rosters to check.
Secure space for sharing photos and more.
Capture and share clinical photos, videos, documents, and voice notes in an encrypted space, completely isolated from personal device content. No risk of data spill to personal apps.
Critical alerts from integrated systems.
Receive automated alerts from hospital and facility systems via Ikonix Messenger MIE, delivered to your dedicated Alerts tab. Priority messages override silent and do-not-disturb settings to demand attention.

Message the right contact, instantly.
Ikonix Connect integrates your full organisational directory, whether that's Active Directory, Okta, or another corporate directory service. Users can search by name at a site or network level, and contact details are always synchronised and up to date.
For shift-based environments, role-based messaging lets your team find the right person without knowing who's on call. Contact the Cardiology Registrar, the Duty Security Supervisor, or the A Lead for Resus, and the message reaches whoever currently holds that role. Verified handover and takeover of roles, published to a roster, ensures unbroken coverage across shift changes.
- Search by name or role. Find colleagues across your site or the whole organisation. Contact details, availability status, and on-call roles are visible at a glance.
- On-Call Management. Users can take over or hand over on-call roles directly in the app. Administrators create and manage rosters through WebConnect with drag-and-drop scheduling, templates for recurring shifts, and the ability to publish rosters to your intranet.
- Privacy by default. Personal mobile numbers can be kept private, visible only to authorised users such as switchboard. Calls made through the app never reveal private numbers. When calling someone outside the app, Caller ID can be optionally hidden.
Collaborate securely, with rich media and real-time communication.
Ikonix Connect is more than a messaging app. It's a complete communication tool for teams who need to share sensitive information quickly and securely. All media is stored within the app in an encrypted space, separated from personal device content, preventing the risk of data spill.
- In-app camera and secure gallery. Capture photos or video directly within the app, or attach existing media from your gallery. Clinical images, diagnostic results, and site photos stay in a secure container, never mixing with personal photos.
- Voice and video calls. Call any directory contact without sharing your personal phone number. Collaborate in real time when a text message isn't enough.
- Voice notes. Record and send up to a minute of audio for hands-free communication, ideal for clinicians who can't stop to type, or to capture sound for diagnostic purposes.
- File sharing. Attach PDFs, documents, contacts, and location pins. Share desktop files through Connect for Web and continue the conversation when you change devices.
- Quick Replies. Create your own canned responses for common phrases and actions, and fire them off with a single tap.
An organised inbox. Powerful team coordination.
Your inbox collates messaging between people, switchboard, and integrated systems, all in one place. Conversations are grouped together, with alerts and calls separated into their own tabs for clear attention. Priority messages are prominently tagged so they stand out.
- Group messaging. Create group chats around a team, a project, or a patient to coordinate tasks. Groups can be pre-configured by administrators or created on the fly by users. Track message status, request acknowledgement, and share media within any group.
- Broadcasts. Send a message to a dedicated broadcast group of hundreds of users at once. Recipients can then respond directly to you in a private one-on-one conversation, keeping the original broadcast clean while enabling individual follow-up.
- Message receipts. Request acknowledgement or accept/reject responses for task-oriented messages. In group messages, all responses are tracked and displayed so everyone can see who has acknowledged and who is still pending.
Automated alerts from your integrated systems.
Third-party systems integrate into Ikonix Messenger, the Message Integration Engine at the heart of the Ikonix Unified Messaging Suite, to send automated alerts directly to Connect users. Add users to customised alert workflows and escalations, and deliver alerts to the personnel who need to act.
With more than 90 common systems already integrated, including BMS, fire and smoke detection, nurse call, duress and security, EMR, pharmacy refrigeration, and medical gas monitoring, your facility's critical data reaches the right people without relying on someone being in the right room at the right time.
- Dedicated Alerts tab. Users see a tailored feed of alerts relevant to their role and responsibilities, separate from their message inbox. Security sees security alerts. Facilities sees BMS events. Clinicians see clinical notifications.
- Priority messages that break through. Authorised users and integrated systems can issue priority alerts that override the device's silent or do-not-disturb setting, playing a distinctive tone until acknowledged. This feature is restricted to approved users to prevent misuse.
- Send a page directly from the app. For teams and roles that still rely on pagers, users can send a page from their smartphone without going via switchboard. Connect integrates with your existing paging network rather than replacing it.
Data security at every step. Australian data sovereignty.
Ikonix Connect was developed in close collaboration with major Australian health networks, incorporating their security and compliance requirements from the ground up. In a landscape where data breaches make national news and overseas-hosted consumer apps create regulatory risk, Ikonix provides genuine data sovereignty.
Single-tenant architecture.
Your data is always segregated. This is not a partitioned multi-tenant environment; your servers, your data, completely isolated from any other customer.
Australian hosting, your choice of model.
Deploy on-premises within your own network, or on secure Australian cloud infrastructure. Data never leaves your controlled environment.
Encryption at every step.
Data encrypted in transit and at rest, and excluded from phone backup. Organisational content stored in a secure container, separated from personal data.
Complete audit trail.
Every message, acknowledgement, file share, and call is logged. Reports accessible by authorised users for compliance, incident investigation, or quality improvement.Works on the device your team already carries.
Ikonix Connect is designed to work seamlessly in whatever device model your organisation uses, whether that's fully corporate-managed, hybrid, or bring-your-own-device.
- Broad device support. Works on Apple iOS 13+ and Android 8.0+, on both corporate-managed and personal devices.
- BYOD with privacy protection. Staff are not required to share their personal mobile number to use the app. Calls and messages within Connect never reveal private numbers, and organisational data is isolated from personal content.
- Share a phone, not an account. Multiple staff members can share a role and its assigned phone with fast user switching. When a new user logs in at the start of their shift, all communications are accurately attributed to them, ensuring uninterrupted contact with correct record attribution.
- Connect for Web. All the same features as the mobile app, accessible from a desktop browser. Share desktop files and continue collaboration when changing devices. Included with every Connect licence at no additional cost.
- Offline mode for work-life balance. Go offline to easily show other users you're not available. When offline, messages are received and ready for when you return. This protects wellbeing and ensures on-call rotations function correctly.

No. Paging provides time-sensitive, high-priority alert delivery with unmatched coverage, and for hospitals using paging, it remains the ideal mechanism to deliver the alert. Ikonix Connect then provides the secure environment to collaborate on the response. The two work together, not in competition.
